Within the four walls of a house, countless stories are witnessed, reflecting lives that have come to us from the past to the present.
A contemporary and sophisticated language marks the identity of this family home in the city of Porto, overlooking the River Douro where it meets the sea — a privileged area of the Invicta which, curiously’, is aligned longitudinally with New York — which happens to be one of the owners’ favourite cities.
This is the family home of a well-travelled couple and their two children, with an area of over 600 m2 whose base architecture was designed by Frederico Valsassina, without neglecting the intervening role of the owners. The interiors are designed by Renata Laranjo, who brings us into an eclectic and timeless atmosphere. With an international portfolio and a career spanning more than 20 years, Renata finds inspiration in achieving a balance between objects, textures and colours, highlighting the energy and needs of her clients, in a singular interpretation that makes each project unique, reflecting the personality of those who live there.
The original building, dating from 1890, was part of a complex of rural dwellings and later home to businesses. These marks of time re-emerged during the remodelling process and have allowed past memories to be unveiled. From the façade, 38 metres stretch back to the rear of the house.

Acquired in 2014, the extensive structural work carried out over seven years has made the wait worthwhile, such is the fluidity felt here, as well as the attention to detail that is consistently coherent in every room, making all the difference.
