The House of Shila is a laboratory of emotions. The Greek studio focuses on the creation of experimental concepts of hospitality, discovering unique spaces which it converts into intimate narratives that whisk us away on sensorial voyages.
Recently inaugurated, Mona is the studio’s most recent exercise in simplicity and natural sophistication. Located in the heart of Athens, this boutique hotel with 20 bedrooms signals a conceptual approach which reflects a philosophy of life based on the pleasures of aesthetic sensuality.
This 1950s building, formerly a textile factory, lends its soul to the project. The whole structure has been maintained intact, revealing 70 years of history that emanate from the iron staircase, the granilite floor and the marble façade. The walls seem to murmur about the passage of time while works of art are displayed on them, in a merging of dimensions.
To wander around absorbing the atmosphere of Mona is to get into an immersive state with its surprising reinterpretation of the industrial past.

The guest rooms suggest the welcoming comforts of home while they simultaneously suggest an ethereal dreamlike state basking in the light of vintage lamps and the Athenian sunshine.
