Refreshing and industrial, take advantage of your stay to visit the hotel's restaurant, which in addition to breakfast, also offers brunch options and a selection of snacks, ideal for sharing at any time of the day.
It was in a former bank, dating back to the early 14th Century, with a neoclassical façade and architectural details revealing the influence of what is known as the Almadino- period, that the Porto-based studio Floret Arquitectura decided to establish one of the most recent hotels in the city. A ‘minimally intrusive’ intervention project, that sought to protect the various historical layers of the building, ranging from its façades, stone structure or inscriptions of medieval lettering – taking in, also, elements added in the 20th century, such as the staircase or concrete slabs.
We are presented with a harmony between the building's heritage and flourishes of modernity; the colourful panel by the artist Manuela Pimentel, that greets us on arrival, evokes the typical Portuguese tiles, reinforcing the historical and social connection with the city. Over the six floors, we discover a cosmopolitan space with an unpretentious elegance that invites us to unwind in any one of the 16 rooms, or in the underground gallery, an intimate library designed to host small events.
