Masquespacio presents its last project in Valencia for Living Bakkali.
As the restaurant’s name expresses, Living Bakkali is a place to live sensory experiences, whether in terms of taste, touch or vision. With a strong inspiration from the Middle East, the design of this restaurant aims to elevate the customer's experience, connecting them with a wonderful environment, for many unknown and full of mystery.
The project is then presented through a layout of the restaurant's small corners, which take us to the Orient and create distinct environments that invite different groups to relax and connect with each other, while enjoying the creative dishes of Living Bakkali. At the same time, the client will be curious to discover what the other corners of the place hide, a mystery partially revealed through the different windows in the style of Arabic architecture.
A central hall connects the entrance to the kitchen and guides us through the space, discovering each of the surroundings of the restaurant, from the more intimate seating area and the benches for larger groups to a space that is on a higher level allowing for a broader view from the restaurant. While the first part of the hall gives the impression that we are walking along a street with old houses, the second part takes us through a corridor between curtains that incorporate a private dining room and the restaurant's bathrooms.
About the shapes and materials of Living Bakkali, the organic forms are constantly contrasting with each other, on the floor, walls and ceilings. Of note is the neutral but slightly contrasting color palette and the light effects created that aim to highlight the mysterious and beautiful Orient.
