Attitude 126: Trust

  • Trust is a silent but powerful gesture. It means opening ourselves up to being guided, surprised, and touched by something new; it means taking a leap without a safety net. We bring 2025 to a close with a word that resonates on every page of this edition: TRUST. Confidence. The trust we have built up over time with our readers, and the certainty that each project featured here has been chosen with the same rigour, curiosity and enthusiasm that has driven us from the word go.
  • It also means believing that our path reveals itself at every step, such as in the intimate gesture of opening a magazine and allowing ourselves to be carried along by stories, images, places, and people we might never have encountered by ourselves. Because each edition is created through a collective contributors, who we are grateful to for their commitment, dedication, and hard work throughout the year. And this issue is, above all, an invitation to trust the vision we share with you: a curatorship that celebrates beauty, authenticity and the power of ideas. This is the closing of a year that prepares us for what lies ahead – and always in the knowledge that the best path to take is the one we tread together. We were fortunate to be able to witness the living history of Hermès at L'Isle d'Espagnac, visiting the workshop where the Kelly and Birkin bags are created, where the craft of leatherworking is transmitted to artisans in a spirit of generational continuity, fostering the Maison's expertise and culture.
  • We wandered through the Madrilenian galleries and museums during Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend – a cultural marathon that promotes the Spanish art scene, and throws its doors open to the world. In the Art section, Philippe Vergne – director of the Serralves Museum – was the personality chosen to introduce us to the environment, the projection and international context of this Porto's institution, which he considers to be ‘more than a museum’. But this edition is not just concerned with places. We also open the doors to creative universes: we spoke to Laura Aviva, who transforms light into poetry; to the Fabscarte team, who are reinventing Renaissance techniques through the hands of the last craftsmen who are able to perpetuate them; and to the creative duo behind Garcé Dimofski, who have chosen Porto as the base for their creativity, where they merge their architecture, design and art into unique pieces. The gaze of the Swiss photographer Christian Tagliavini completes these portraits, reminding us that each image can be a story in itself.
  • We leave you with several suggestions... Take your time to browse through the pages. Allow yourself to become lost in them. This might be our last edition of the year – but it is also a new point of departure.
