Attitude 127: Love

  • Mais Amor Por Favor [More Love Please], (Ygor Marotta, 2009)
When we decided on the theme for this edition, this was the slogan that immediately echoed in my memory. Like a much-needed manifesto that reawakens us. Not because of its poetic nature, but rather because it stems from the intention to safeguard the good things that unite us. Given what the world is going through, in the midst of political differences and interests, love is urgently needed. In its most diverse forms, colours, gestures and flavours. To reinforce this message, the fresh breeze of the New Year arrives, accompanied by chilly January, which is always a watershed: an interim between what we've left behind us and what we still can't discern. With every New Year, we're filled with a sense of renewal, a territory where anything seems possible: a deep breath, an opening of doors, a fresh look at what motivates us. And that is why – in this first edition of 2026 – we have chosen to start with a theme that permeates, transforms and illuminates everything we do: LOVE.

  • As Bell Hooks said in her renowned book All About Love: "Love is what love does. Loving is an act of will – that is, both an intention and an action. Our will also implies making choices. We don't have to love. We choose to love." And what we choose is not idealised love, but love as a gesture and attitude, as a presence, as a way of looking at the world. The love that manifests itself in the patient, demanding and beautiful construction of the life we want to live.
  • Starting the year by talking about love is to start off on the right foot. It is to remind ourselves that every aesthetic choice is also an emotional one. That we are not just looking for spaces – we are designing experiences. We're not simply satisfied by objects; we seek meaning. And we don't just follow trends – we choose what makes us feel vibrant.
  • We stepped into the world of Omer Gilony, a visionary artist who elevates the romanticism of any space in an immersive celebration that radiates sensitivity and aesthetics. We challenged the universe by unveiling Átomos, the latest project by Luís Rebelo de Andrade. We bring spaces, share experiences, interviews and architecture that stir us, and shape our intimacy, expressed in the lines and words that comprise the following pages. We invite you to join us in a year in which we seek to be more mindful, more sensory, more ourselves. May this be the year in which we fall in love – again or for the first time – with the way we touch each other's lives.
