The leitmotif for this project, set in California’s Coachella Valley, dates back to the 1970s, when a wave of modernity washed over the desert, and the colours and somewhat psychedelic motifs breathed life into a glamorous oasis.
Just 20 minutes away from Palm Springs, the Rancho Mirage area is renowned for offering a multitude of homes, clubs and hotels characterised by breathtaking views of the serene beauty of the desert. And this house, in keeping with the surrounding spirit, invites us to immerse ourselves in an era of elegance, like a living tribute to the celebration of the 1920s and 1930s lived in this place. At that time, several celebrities settled here and transformed the area into a social meeting point, as well as, of course, the current Coachella music festival, which launches and unites the “rising stars” in the desert sky.
The connection with nature and the surroundings is inevitable, given the atmosphere that reigns here. “This home is a classic California dream”, says the interior designer, Harrison Soll. “I was mesmerised by the openness, by the connection with nature, and the location. So, the opportunity to work on such a project in a familiar and beloved setting was irresistible.”
The house is embraced by a retro design aesthetic, with hints of modernity, and the owners — entrepreneurs with solid experience in the building sector — wanted to create a haven to spend their weekends. This project is like a love letter straight out of the 1960s and 70s, back when life was simpler and slower”, says Soll. “Imagine sipping a cocktail on the rocks, soaking up the best gossip by the poolside with a warm breeze teasing through your hair. Our project thesis? Easy: we’re stepping into a groovy time machine. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be enveloped in a mix of textures, elements, and vibes, each one inviting you to craft your own story within the space.”

Spread over 3200 m2, on a single, open-plan floor and connected to an exotic and exuberant exterior, the project unfolds in daring colours, with vintage furniture and iconic pieces that have delighted the owners, creating a captivating and welcoming environment.
