San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
A property to pass on, from generation to generation, that proudly praises ancestral components, in a bold mixture of patterns and influences from all over the world.
Located in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, the San Miguel project farm holds the attention of any travelling soul, due to the quirkiness of the main door of the "hacienda". "It reminds us of a Mexican or Arab house, where we're never quite sure what lies behind the simplest door," explains the creator, Michelle Nussbaumer.

And it is here, in an authentic version of a typical Mexican colonial farm in a modern-world setting, that the interior and product designer chose to restore the house for her family. "When we bought the farm, most of it was in ruins, with only the stables and cellars surviving," explains the award-winning designer.

The reality is that as soon as we walk around the interior, it echoes "more is more", undermining all the power of the iconic minimalist phrase "less is more". The bohemian vision, influenced by travel and sentimentalism governed by a "from generation to generation" outlook, presents us with a range of possibilities.
