Designed by the Lissoni & Partners studio, this villa in Mumbai seems to defy time, creating a seamless universe that one moves through in perfect harmony.
There are houses meant just to be contemplated, while other houses are meant to be explored. Designed by the Lissoni & Partners studio, this villa clearly belongs to the latter category. Facing Juhu Beach in Mumbai, India, this robust and sculptural private home has been sensitively designed as a sanctuary where three generations live together.
The architecture, with its striking presence, extends over six floors and conjugates solids and voids, recesses and vertical openings, which filter the light and provide privacy. On three sides, the building looks inwards on itself; but on the sea-facing side, it opens up unreservedly, allowing one's gaze to wander over the horizon of the Arabian Sea. It is based on this duality that the experience unfolds.
The interiors reflect the studio’s signature style: a restrained elegance, where the precision of Italian design meets Eastern influences.
