It’s in the unlikeliest of places that we might succumb to creative inspiration. Studio Plow’s project for the offices of NFX, a San Francisco startup and fintech hub, frees itself from the shackles of conventionality in a cry that celebrates life and inspires the extraordinary.
Located in Hayes Valley, one of San Francisco’s most vibrant and eclectic neighbourhoods, the NFX offices are housed in a historic 1907 industrial warehouse.
The choice of materials, colours and furnishings reflect the philosophy of the concept, which derives from the infectious spirit of the Disco era and the countercultural vibes of the 1970s: vintage pieces mix with contemporary design in an eclectic and eye-catching composition. Softness reigns supreme in soft rugs, curtains, playful textures in comforting multi-patterned upholstery; in contrast, patterned tiles add a tactile dimension to the room. Mirrors and mirror balls enlarge the space striking a balance between functionality and irreverence. A place of connection, celebration and creativity permeated with sensations of unpredictability, fun and the unreal.
