Attitude 121: Choice

It's in the poetry of choices that life happens, between the lines of imagination between what we want and what is imposed on us. It's been two years since I first set foot in the editorial room of Attitude, and it's with the same desire and dedication that, as a team, we continue to seek out the things that fascinate us and that we can share with our readers. The beginning of the year goes hand in hand with the introspection that comes with new resolutions. But it has a particular impetus since it's a new (re)beginning, and because it reflects the yearning for the pursuit of a creative spirit with its own personal signature, infused with the universe that defines this magazine.

On the subject of choices, in this edition we set the course to  Mallorca. We've dedicated our Global Report section, which is longer than usual, to this magical destination off Spain's east coast, rewritten in our own way after experiencing the beauty and authenticity of the places and people that welcomed us.

The decision to fly to this Mediterranean paradise, filled with a unique splendour, serves to show that Mallorca, one of the most important Balearic islands, can be discovered at any time of the year. Medieval history is to be found at every turn, preserved in the island's architecture and hillsides. There are places that welcome and transform us, and so I invite you to explore this issue – take a journey through our pages and get inspired for your next holiday!

Our choices also include other places of reference, such as Club James, an architectural example and the setting for Holywood films, and Iceland's art scene, revealed in conversation with curator Margrét Áskelsdóttir. From our city of Porto we bring you new things to see as soon as possible - be it the new boutique hotel Palacete Severo or Gelataria Segreti, both projects signed by Paulo Lobo. As a dedication, we revisit Barreiros & Barreiros, our long-standing partner with whom we return to the Profile section.
