To combine substance and integrity, to challenge technology and craftsmanship, without ever compromising seamless articulation between designers, engineers and craftsmen. For Bang & Olufsen Vice President Gavin Ivester, these are among the fundamentals that sustain over nine decades of experience, an immersive quest that has resulted in the development of unique products with the power to enhance the lives of those that use them.
What are the main ingredients behind the success of every Bang & Olufsen product? Sound, design, and craft: those have been the pillars of the brand since its founding in 1925 and remain the same to this day. Really fantastic sound makes the music we love fresh and full of life and it’s a powerful ingredient in inspiring focus or encouraging relaxation, or escaping reality, and we believe all of these enhance our lives. That’s why we have some of the world’s best acousticians constantly listening, innovating, and testing in our labs in Denmark. There’s an emotional pull in great design: we love timeless design, simple, clean, purposeful geometry that is always interior-friendly. Longevity is a value at Bang & Olufsen; we know that our products are used for decades, even multiple generations.

How does Beoplay H95 reflect the know-how, innovation, and, mostly, the craftsmanship of a 95-year-old brand? H95 is the product of our philosophy that purposeful design is beautiful design. We set out to create our best-ever headphone: the highest quality sound, truly effective noise cancellation, most satisfying user experience, longest-lasting comfort, and the most luxurious materials and build quality we’ve ever put together in a single headphone. As always, we have taken an honest approach to materials. If it looks like aluminium, it’s because it is aluminium, and you can feel the difference. We selected a titanium speaker driver for its incredible responsiveness, and it’s visible behind a beautiful anodized aluminium grille for protection. Even the screw heads are deliberately positioned, and the inner surfaces are smoothly sculpted. It’s one of the hidden gems on the H95.

In an era where analogue techniques are once again on the rise, in which way can Bang & Olufsen continue to attract new customers? The world moves quickly, as we also do, behind the scenes: we are focused on innovation and quality, and our aim is to make every product better than the last. We’re in constant conversations with our users, finding out what is working well and looking for needs that are as yet unmet and that can inspire new types of products.
