Immersed in the art of "creating ambience, invoking emotions and transforming states of mind", The Ivens hotel can be found on the intersection of two emblematic Lisbon streets, Rua Ivens and Rua Capelo.
Located in a historic 19th-century building, we discover a mysterious interior inspired by exploration, and which honours the achievements of the explorers who lend their names to these two streets.
Designed by the architect and designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán and the interior designer Cristina Matos, all of the hotel’s walls and floors are steeped in history. Long carpets, patterned wallpapers, vintage works of art, books and travel magazines can be found in the common areas and restaurants, in stark contrast with the restrained white and beige tones of the 87 rooms. A setting composed of sensory stimuli, seen in subtle details such as the scent of Jo Malone's fragrances that can be detected on arrival, as well as the velvet stools, the mirrored surfaces and the thoughtful lighting. Also of note are the 1960s fountain imported from France and the hand-painted tiles covering one of the walls of the Terrazza.

In keeping with this voyage of discovery, the gastronomic project of this hotel evokes the Italian dolce vita. This is achieved through the typical Neapolitan cuisine with signature dishes in the Rocco restaurant, the impressive wine cellar of Barra, the main bar, and the emphasis on Mediterranean roots, expressed through the décor, not to mention through the shellfish menu at Crudo bar.
