They opened the doors of their urban hideaway to us, a place of memories where light plays the starring role, illuminating the story of a life reflected between art and comfort.
The place from where you can see the treetops of Parque da Cidade, in Invicta, and where you can look out to the ocean, is the new apartment of Mário Azevedo and his family, which narrates a new stage in their lives. It was about six years ago, after the natural changes in family routines, when their daughters left home, that Mário and Paula decided to move from the house where they had always lived to na apartment which, despite being half the size of their previous home, met their new needs. What ensued was an exercise in eliminating excess and revealing the true essence of each space, while preserving the spirit of family warmth. Intimately surrounded by the ‘lungs’ of the city of Porto – a privileged area with the largest urban park in the country – the home is divided into large and generous spaces, where light floods in without restraint. This was one of the main attractions that led the couple to choose this as their new home – that it was on the top floor, bathed in sunlight.
