What coffee has brought together, no one can separate. This could well be the sentence that best describes Kyoichi and Ikumi Yoshida, the couple behind the Wife & Husband project.
The first time they got together they roasted coffee and they have never stopped since. This is how an old house in a Kyoto street became the address for their coffee shop in 2015. The name has a purpose behind it: to create a connection with their customers in the same way that these two words do, in the belief that "one can't live without the other".

Wife & Husband can be summed up as three elements: coffee (of course), picnics and antiques. Here, we can drink a cup of coffee to warm us up on chilly days, an iced coffee to cool down in the heat, and we can also admire objects from all over the world gathered by this couple over the years.

Being just a stone's throw from the River Kamo, here you can spend a few hours in touch with nature. To this end, the couple prepare baskets with thermos flasks, biscuits and mugs, and rent out benches, tables, mats and even straw hats.

Everything you might need for the perfect picnic, prompting Kyoichi to admit that it's great to see customers "returning with a smile on their face".
