A space for all of society, aimed at reflection, education and community development through dialogue with contemporary art.

The new building, signed by the acclaimed Tuñón Arquitectos studio, will be inaugurated in 2021. The space has been purposely designed to house the Helga de Alvear Collection, considered to be one of the most significant international contemporary art collections in Europe and the world. What previously used to be known as the Helga de Alvear Visual Arts Centre – opened in 2010 and limited to a refurbished Art Noveau building – will now become the Helga de Alvear Museum of Contemporary Art, a cultural institution that will help fulfil the dream of making contemporary art accessible to the entire population and to future generations.
