Amidst the creative rhythm of Rua de Cedofeita, Casa Cedo was born – a boutique hotel that redefines the idea of hospitality by transforming it into an intimate, sensory and deeply personal experience.
Porto is, in itself, a city with a mystical aura, and Massimiliano Sale’ and Jeremiah Healy fell in love with it several years ago – when they visited it frequently. Together, and far from their original professional backgrounds, they nurtured a dream of creating a welcoming space where, as well as hosting friends and family, they could also welcome travellers and the local community. A place of stories, creative, inclusive, and with a sense of home: “We don’t like to say it’s a home away from home, because in truth we want it to be the best version of our own home.”
And so, amidst the creative rhythm of Rua de Cedofeita, Casa Cedo was born – a boutique hotel that redefines the idea of hospitality by transforming it into an intimate, sensory and deeply personal experience. Housed in a lovingly restored 19th-century building, the project – with architecture by the studio in.vitro and interiors by Quiet Studios – preserves the building’s soul and architectural memory whilst introducing a subtle contemporary language, where every detail has been designed to welcome and inspire.
Right away at the entrance, we are met by the unexpected: a reception area disguised as a delicate botanical shop – a passion of one of the owners and the inspiration behind the names of the rooms – where fresh flowers mingle with Byredo fragrances, hinting at the sensory mood of the stay. Inside, the atmosphere is that of a home that is genuinely lived in – warm and serene – where time slows down amidst leisurely reading, spontaneous conversations over a signature cocktail, and moments of relaxation in a haven that inspires calm.

With just eight rooms, Casa Cedo cultivates exclusivity with its eye for detail. The renovation has respected the essence of the original building, discreetly integrating new spaces into an aesthetic narrative inspired by nature, botany and local craftsmanship.
