Passalacqua nestles on the bucolic shores of Lake Como in total contemplation of the senses.
The fabled 18th-century estate possesses secrets that, along with its supernatural beauty, carry us into the realm of the unreal.
Passalacqua, once the romantic refuge of Italian opera composer Vincenzo Bellini and his muse Giuditta Cantù Turina, is bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk, generating a unique microclimate. In 2018, the historic villa ushered in a new chapter in its history after the De Santis family bought it at a Sotheby's auction and set about restoring all its elegance and charm.
Everything here is an evocation of paradise. Exuberant gardens boasting cedars, cypresses, palm trees, ornamental lilies, rose bushes and camellias, fountains and waterfalls with dream-like sounds are reminiscent of legendary Atlantis or Lemuria. One of the most emblematic spots is the oval pool with its parasols designed by J.J. Martin. The neo-classical interiors are adorned with lavish marble staircases, Il Bronzetto lamps, luxurious silk fabrics and art pieces procured at auctions.

Every one of the 24 suites is named after a character from Bellini's operas, and the heavenly comfort of the beds is enhanced by Beltrami bed linen, made from birch pulp and a profusion of fresh flowers.
