The purity and simplicity of the landscape of Muda, in the Comporta area, are in total harmony with the geometry of this home, which boasts generous openings, with the volume containing the inter-connected living area and kitchen, offering the best example of this intimate dialogue with the home’s setting. While following the track to this home, the fragrances of the vegetation and breeze, gentle and mild, start to heighten our senses. Who would guess that hidden away in the depths of such a setting we would find a building that so perfectly exemplifies architecture at the service of the landscape? In most people’s imagination, one would expect a home designed following the style of typical buildings of this region.
For this almost 1000 m2 plot, the Belgian architect designed an L-shaped house, comprising two modules with a double-storey height, connected by another one. At the centre, the lowest of these volumes – the one at the entrance – defines a more concealed patio, without glass openings.
