In Dubai, where sophistication meets architectural audacity, the new N53 lounge emerges as a statement of elegance and intimacy.
Crafted by the prestigious London-based studio Bergman Design House, founded by Marie Soliman and Albin Berglund, this premier venue is strategically suspended within the One&Only One Za’abeel. It forms an integral part of the iconic "The Link” structure—one of the world's longest cantilevered buildings, floating over 100 metres above the ground. Far more than an engineering marvel physically connecting two towers, the project symbolises a conceptual bridge between heritage and the future, elevated luxury and the region's deep-rooted traditions.
The venue encapsulates the very essence of contemporary interior design. Over twelve months of meticulous craftsmanship and prototyping, Marie Soliman and her team developed a layered visual language that redefines the traditional cigar lounge. The result is a masterful balance between masculinity and elegance, intimacy and grandeur, where every detail feels both confident and understated.
The chromatic palette of N53 is dense, warm, and unapologetically atmospheric. Caramel and cognac tones inspire the marquetry on the walls, while deep charcoal greys dominate the ceiling and carpets, blending seamlessly with dark bronzes, amber, and subtle hints of slate blue. This colour scheme not only echoes the world of premium cigars and rare spirits served within, but also enhances a dramatic play of light and shadow that welcomes and envelops the guest.

Respect for craftsmanship and cultural narrative lies at the absolute heart of the design. The central marquetry piece pays homage to falconry—the ultimate symbol of power and precision in local culture—reinterpreted through a subtle, contemporary lens. Authentic, tactile materials such as Cipollino marble, rich timbers, brushed metals, and leather were selected for their inherent beauty and the graceful way they age. The atmosphere is further elevated by a suspended mesh light installation and Murano glass floor lamps, which lend a unique acoustic and visual softness to the space.
Featuring an open-plan layout that flows organically between seating areas, the cigar display, and a private, speakeasy-style humidor for VIP guests, N53 privileges discretion and seclusion over sheer spectacle. Framing cinematic views of the Dubai skyline, this is a sanctuary of stillness and refined indulgence, designed with the mastery of those who understand that true luxury lies in making time stand still.
