Interior design and curation: The Bureau in collaboration with Thad Geldert of Geldert Architecture: Bohlin Cywinski Jackson
In this new winery, where the artistically inspired architecture and more than 30 customised pieces by contemporary artists give rise to a unique tasting experience, visitors are invited to taste the wines in tasting rooms that reflect the vibrant colours of the vineyard.
Inspired by the beauty of the fire and the rich tones of the autumn harvest that characterise the surrounding area, the private tasting room has a sombre atmosphere, with a colour palette that reflects the view of the vineyard. At the same time, the natural materials evoke the essence of the land.
The new winery includes a 511-square-metre glass pavilion with transverse windows that allow the building to open up entirely to its surroundings, a commercial building, 12 hectares of orchards, vegetable gardens, and a "walking vineyard. "Visitors can enjoy an exploratory experience spread over two buildings and traversable vineyards with various indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The interior design of the different spaces was done by The Bureau (led by Sarah Giesenhagem) in collaboration with Thad Geldert from Geldert. The Bureau was also responsible for curating all the objects that decorate the space - "The majority of the furnishings, fixtures, art, and attire were custom crafted by over 30 creative collaborators. These thoughtfully designed and curated components provide captivating and meaningful experiences for visitors, conveying a level of intention and artisanship reflective of Caymus-Suisun's multi-generation winemaking family and their pioneering nature," says Sarah Giesenhagen.

A wine destination on the rise
Founded and run by the Wagner family (multi-generational winemakers who first established the world-famous Caymus Vineyards in Napa Valley in 1972), Caymus-Suisun Winery is nestled among farmland in the rolling hills of the valley cooled by Pacific Coast breezes in Northern California. The Suisun Valley is a designated American Viticultural Area (AVA), recognised as a distinct region for wine production.
