Patrícia Gonçalves is a young ceramist who in 2020 created Ramos Cerâmica - a ceramics studio whose name is a tribute to the creator's grandfather and where Patrícia produces the pieces she always dreamed of.
"Ramos Cerâmica was born from the desire to mold the clay and to combine it with materials and techniques that I have liked to play with for years: wicker, raffia, rope, wool; tapestry, basketwork, textile basketwork, dressmaking. ”
Without the help of molds, Patrícia Gonçalves produces all the pieces by hand, which means that there are never two identical pieces. “I like to see them rough, imperfect, with the personality and fingerprints of when I molded them.” In addition, all Ramos Cerâmica collections are made up of a few pieces (usually only 30 pieces per collection) which makes the brand even more exclusive.
However, some of the pieces created by Patrícia "so enchanted those who accompanied me that requests were being made to bring them back". That is how the ceramist decided to launch the permanent fe·mi·ni·no collection, “which is the result of the love I have for all the skins that women wear and for the forms, sometimes elegant, sometimes crude. Despite being a permanent collection, I continue to respect my desire to create special and exclusive pieces. As such, the initial forms of these clay women will remain over time but will occasionally appear in other clay or details ”.
In addition to these pieces, Patrícia maintains the sequela and prequela collections, where she places, “respectively pieces that suffered minor accidents and pieces of experience that allowed me to reach the result presented in my final collections. In this way, I avoid wasting materials and resources and make other parts available at lower prices."
