Aiming to highlight the “powerful creative energy of women in Europe”, from September 27 to October 27, Landesgalerien Linz gallery hosts the exhibition "Europe's designing Women", an initiative developed in the context of DesignSalon 2019, that showcases the work of independent designers coming from each of the 28 European Union member countries.

The show, curated by Katrin Steindl, features the Portuguese project NEO Sustainable & Social, responsible for the production of products made out of the textile waste of the upholstery industry. Social responsibility is also a key element of the project, the founder Maria Bruno Néo tells us, which also explains her “will to collaborate with several disadvantaged groups”, contributing, right now, to “improve the quality of life of nine persons”.

“When we look for production partners, we realized that, generally, women are the ones who need better opportunities. This happens not only in Portugal but over Europe”, she adds. Enhancing the desire to promote an equal exhibition, all the projects are presented in a round table, showing the work of businesswomen, influential creative forces and bosses of design studios. “Design is a tool that has the power to improve significantly people’s lives. We believe that projects like these contribute to gender equality in the industry and the world in general”.
