Located in Rua Dr. Peixoto Correia, one of the most emblematic streets of Sesimbra, we uncover restaurant Zagaia, boasting a renewed image, an intervention carried out by Pedro Mateus, João Proença and Paulo Carvalho, with the aim of combining “Sesimbra’s traditional costumes, such as the beach and seafood” with “the frenetic and cool Lisbon”.
Inaugurated in March, the owners were determined to give the space a simple yet cozy atmosphere, marked by a relaxed mood of their interiors. Among the highlights are the sea blue tiles on the wall, capable of transporting us to the beautiful surrounding beaches, but also the fresh dishes, ideal portions to share between family and friends.
Coming from the kitchen are seasonal proposals, conceived by chef Paulo Carvalho, which invite us to take things more slowly. You simply have to taste delicacies like the cuttlefish croquettes with black garlic mayonnaise, the mussels with coconut milk and kaffir lime or the succulent giant red shrimp rice and algae, representing the perfect fusion of nostalgia and innovative kitchen.
