It was Horst Rittel, a German design theorist and university professor, who once said that “Softness, as an expression of aesthetics, has the power to improve our lives”. It was precisely this idea that inspired the Cun Panda Nana interior design studio to design the Hoormem Muscle Research Aesthetics Centre.
Located in Zhangzhou, in China’s Fujian province, this space offers a haven in a city that can also be harsh and cold at times. In other words, a place that extends a warm welcome to those who come here and encourages them to shed the masks and armour of everyday life in order to rediscover calm and serenity.
The Chinese studio, founded by the duo Cai Xuanna and Lin Jiacheng, has remodelled the entire vision of the Hoormem brand, creating a softer, more transparent aesthetic space that exudes vitality.
Here, the softness is immediately apparent on the exterior façade. The entire wall is clad in large areas of textured milky white marble, which are held together by arched lines that immediately lead our gaze to the large circular opening in gilded metal.

Inside, the spacious rooms, delicate curves, pastel tones and intimate lighting convey a feeling of cosiness and serenity.
