This house is located in Pechersk, an old part of Kyiv characterized by the existence of “Stalinka” houses – a series of houses built during Stalin's regime – as well as modern residential complexes.
With 75 m2, the apartment is characterized by a light color palette that transforms this house into a light, airy and feminine space (the owner is Dasha - a young woman who works in finance). The only exception to this palette is a “deliberately theatrical” hallway, painted in bold tones ranging from terracotta to blue.

Considering that the designer intended to recreate the aesthetics of an old apartment, the materials and options used are typical of old apartments - classic parquet, plaster cornices, high baseboards, marble, and granite. “We bought some stuff at vintage online stores in Ukraine and Europe, had some items restored, and had others made to order and always kept a retro aesthetic in mind ”, says Yana Molodykh, the designer responsible for the project.
