Online platform showcases a selection of some of the best artisans, new talents, galleries, museums and ateliers around Europe.
Created in collaboration with the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, Homo Faber Guide is an online platform which showcases a selection of some of the best artisans, new talents, galleries, museums and ateliers around Europe. Each country will have an ambassador in charge of selecting and suggesting the best to know in each city. From the ceramicists in Stockholm to the glassblowers of Venice, to the jewellery makers in St. Petersburg and the tapestry weavers in Paris, there is an entire Europe to discover and a wonderful heritage that must be remembered and preserved.

With a huge tradition in the arts and crafts, Portugal is also part of the Homo Faber Guide with a very special selection of several Portuguese artists, as well as places to visit from North to South of the country. In Porto, visit the atelier of the model maker Alvaro Negrello, the brushes of the artisan Sérgio Rodrigues or the atelier of the ceramist Teresa Branco. Heading south and arriving in Lisbon, be sure to visit Manufactum by FRESS - a store where you can find contemporary handicrafts by Filipe Alarcão, Marco Sousa Santos, Emmamuel Babled, Marre Moerel and Sam Baron. The handcrafted itinerary that Homo Faber Guide suggests for Portugal takes visitors to the Algarve to meet, for example, the talented textile designer Vanessa Barragão. However, each visitor has the chance to create their own itinerary and visit the ateliers they want.

By 2021, the platform intends to present more than 1000 artists and new talents that will be selected and presented online weekly.
