Designed by the Portuguese studio Spaceworkers, the project has transformed some former barns into a new cultural hub where architecture has become an instrument of continuity, permanence and collective identity.

The intervention stems from the preservation of the identity of the setting and the original characteristics of the buildings, based on the premise that the refurbishment should not extinguish memory, but amplify it instead. The architectural proposal adds a new volume to the existing structure, formally replicating the language of the adjoining barns and reinforcing the idea of urban and formal continuity. However, this extension does not seek to be invisible: it asserts itself as a distinct entity, becoming the new main entrance to the complex and clearly demonstrating its intervention in time, enhancing the image of the original building.
