• An Encounter with Nature

Located in the heart of São Paulo, perfectly filled with the creative and artistic profile of the city, it is one of the most recent projects of the architect Ana Sawaia.

The apartment, conceived to accommodate a couple and its son, wanted to take advantage of its green surroundings, creating a dialogue between the living room and the exteriors. Intending to reach this deep integration, the architect “opened a bedroom to the living room and the kitchen” and decided to “peel the beams and pillars”, to obtain the desired rawness, enhancing the contrast with more sophisticated elements.

On the interiors, marked by the presence of concrete and wood, we uncover pieces of furniture from Brazilian designers such as Paulo Alves, Rodrigo Ohtake or Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The concrete pillar, which “receives a concrete countertop divides the living room and the kitchen and acts as a dining stand”, Cristiana Bertolucci's dining room pendant or the kitchen wall light is Ingo Maurer's Light au Lait are also some of the highlights of the typical Carioca house, that easily combines art, comfort and sophistication.
