In an urban nook marked by the modernist spirit, this small flat has been the subject of an intervention that is both sensitive and visionary.
The careful renovation preserved the original architectural soul and enhanced it, creating a space where creativity and everyday life intersect with lightness and functionality.
The new resident - a young fashion designer who works from home - needed more than a home: she was looking for an atelier, a stage for ideas, a place to pause and contemplate. The result is a fluid and versatile environment, where every detail has been designed to accommodate both creative life and the most mundane gestures of everyday life.
Functionality with identity
The redistribution of the floor plan allowed the kitchen, dining room, and studio to coexist in an open space, in dialogue with the living room. Natural light, an essential element for the new owner, permeates every corner, revealing a cohesive and refined visual language.
The kitchen - designed by Santos - is linear, elegant, and surprisingly functional. It stretches along the wall, taking full advantage of its height, with storage solutions thought out down to the smallest detail. The choice of finishes, such as Ceppo di Gré and graphene, reinforces the contemporary character without sacrificing sobriety.
A stage for living and creating
Carefully chosen pieces reinforce the fluidity of the space. A handmade table in front of the kitchen, lit by a & traditional lamp and accompanied by Potocco chairs, forms a cosy dining area. The studio, oriented perpendicularly, appears as a natural kitchen extension. It is equipped with a Palluco table, a Stua chair, and an Artemide lamp; it has a discreet but defined presence.
At the back, a wall in Ceppo di Gré, with illuminated niches between cupboards, creates a play of volumes and light that reinforces the visual depth of the space.
Invisible design, tangible comfort
More than the aesthetics, the way design is put at the service of living impresses. The column cabinets hide the appliances (fridge, oven, dishwasher) and provide multiple storage solutions. With their modular organisation and customisable accessories, the drawers reveal a silent intelligence that turns routine into an intuitive ritual.
A special highlight goes to the display cabinet with sliding doors that cover the wall perpendicular to the worktop. Its system of illuminated shelves - also in Ceppo di Gré - gives the space a scenic presence, acting as a source of ambient light and a showcase for everyday objects.
The Santos LED lighting profile, which runs along the entire worktop, integrates sockets and supports for utensils and gadgets, balancing technology and craftsmanship.
A house with attitude
This project clearly shows how small spaces can have big ambitions. More than a renovation, it is a reinvention of the concept of living, where design, far from being an end, is the guiding thread of a more conscious, functional, and beautiful life.
