This is one of the latest projects signed by noa* (network of architecture), commissioned by the municipality of Völs. Rising from a lush green pine forest, in Völser Weiher, this idyllic hut offers a refuge that invites us to slow down while we appreciate the natural beauty of the natural reserve. Located in a forested mountain range surrounding northern Italy, the studio decided to demolish the old kiosk and create a structure, perfectly connected with its surroundings.

With two buildings - the main one, with its saddle roof, brings together a cafe, a kitchen, and a terrace; the second one gathers the public areas such as changing rooms and sanitary facilities - the result is a discrete complex for bikers and hikers. Traditional South Tyrolean lace patterning was also included into the resin filler, creating a three-dimensional and interesting visual effect and the wooden frame which connects the two buildings also acts as a supporting structure for climbing plants and “within a few months, the planned fast-growing jasmine will envelop the changing rooms, making the building disappearing in its surroundings”, the team explained.

With clear respect for the landscape, the project wants to take advantage of its natural setting, creating a contemporary yet subtle design.
