Designed by Raquel Font of Studiofont, the three-bedroom villa occupies an eight-thousand-square-metre site among sculptural cacti, the Sierra de la Laguna and the Pacific Ocean. Its horseshoe-shaped form embraces a circular pool and divides the house into a series of volumes, creating a distinct relationship between each room and the desert.

The architecture is built entirely in pigmented concrete, in a soft pink hue that shifts with the changing light throughout the day. The bedrooms are conceived as continuous spaces, where sleeping, resting and bathing coexist, while generous openings frame different views of the landscape.

At the centre of the house, two intersecting roofs span a double-height communal space, where a cylindrical pool and fire pit shape the areas for gathering. Inside, the studio Niños Heroes combines vintage pieces, Moroccan rugs and Mexican ceramics with the deeply raw materiality of the concrete.

Conceived to exist in dialogue with its surroundings, the house is entirely off-grid, relying on solar energy, a thermosolar system and water-reuse strategies. Vegetation removed during construction was also replanted on the site.

Nereidas Homes is the first project in a growing collection of architectural retreats across Baja California Sur. Its next chapter will be a group of eight cabins, again developed by Studiofont, envisioned as a singular new refuge in the heart of the desert, scheduled to open in 2027.
