JAO Arquitectura approaches the project with an almost archaeological dismantling: removing partitions, exposing the structure, revealing the skeleton of a once-rigid interior. From this disciplined void, Ana Sara Hidalgo and Jesús Barranco craft a spatial continuum that accompanies life in all its stages, a flow of memories, echoes and desires that unfold with ease.
On arrival, the threshold turns the everyday gesture of entering into a sensory ritual, with irregular marble, textured walls and a gentle light that sets the tone of the home. The chamber acts as a quiet interlude — intimate and contemplative — where a lowered ceiling and deep-blue vault shift the spatial rhythm, balancing storage with atmosphere before leading into the kitchen. The garden, once an enclosed terrace, becomes an inward-looking retreat washed in glossy greens and vegetation, softening the urban noise while framing views towards the Alhambra, Sacromonte and the Sierra Nevada.

Between these three moments, the apartment evolves into a serene domestic landscape. Oak panelling envelops the living and dining area, integrating shelving and suggesting a transition towards the study without breaking the spatial flow. Light travels across surfaces, reflects through the garden and settles into the natural tones that shape the atmosphere. What was once a succession of closed rooms is now an architectural narrative. A home that breathes, welcomes and continually reinvents itself.
