In an elegant Dallas neighbourhood, characterised by typical French chateaus and contemporary Tudor mansions, you'll find Highland Park Residence - a family home designed for an art-enthusiast client.

Set in a large property, the residence was built on three levels, creating an exciting indoor-outdoor experience. By introducing natural elements into the project, the architects and designers have created a new landscape hiding the garage and inviting people to occupy the space in different and unexpected ways.
The project revolves around a large bar of natural stone that hovers slightly above the building line. Touring the house is a unique experience - from the outset, a series of expectations are created, and new spaces are revealed as you walk around the property.

Inside the building, our attention is drawn to the landscape and the details that fill each room. The living room is carved out of the stone that lines the property, providing ample space with high ceilings, while the curved glass panels and large retractable doors encourage a smooth transition to the outside.
The raw and elegant finishes are combined unusually - the worked steel confined with Indiana limestone panels, and the handmade tiles and glazed Guadalajara volcanic stones harmonised with walnut cabinets and stainless steel fittings.

Adjacent to the main building is a single-storey, ivy-covered structure that houses a large art gallery, a lounge area for the pool and a guest suite. Inside, the gallery, measuring approximately 1.100 square feet, contrasts with the rich materials and textures of the house and grounds. This space features a concrete floor, white walls and three skylights.
Incredibly conceived and detailed, the project establishes a dichotomy between a tangible material presence and an abstract setting, emphasising the wonders of nature, art and social experience.
