For several ancestral cultures, the number 13 represented female power, corresponding to the number of lunar menstrual cycles in a year.
PLATO presents 'I Think I Make You Up'. This first exhibition will bring together works by 13 women artists. Each artist, through her work, will invite the viewer to enter her intimacy, real or imaginary worlds. One or more possible cartographies of these same worlds will be sought when placed in dialogue.
The exhibition can be visited until October 29, 2022, from Tuesday to Friday, from 3 pm to 8 pm, and Saturdays, from 12 pm to 5 pm.
ABOUT PLATO
PLATO is a multidisciplinary platform for creation, experimentation, production and marketing dedicated to art and design. The project, created by Diogo Ramalho - architect, designer and curator - started from the increasingly urgent need to decentralize, in the national territory, the focus of exhibition and debate of contemporary artistic practices.
Thus, in the historic centre of Évora, a studio, laboratory and gallery emerge. Inserted in an urban territory in increasing transformation, it is an invitation to the confluence of various artistic practices. From typography to fishmongers and from fishmongers to galleries, a diversified curatorial program of exhibitions is now proposed, focusing on contemporary art and culture. PLATO intends to act locally and globally, to promote national and international artists and curators, established or emerging, and to foster constant dialogue with various audiences.
