Kiev, Ukraine, 2020. It was there that DEZEST DESIGN designed Pine Cove House - a 380 m2 cottage perfectly integrated into the forest space that surrounds it.
In this project, the space of the house is not limited by the walls. The architects integrated nature and the environment in the design of the chalet, becoming an extension of the house itself. With this, a feeling of fusion between spaces is created, almost as if the internal space overflows to the external space.
“Today people drive cars, work in glass and steel offices centers, and are exposed to the information noise of the screens. Technology has evolved faster than humans and we feel uncomfortable. Sometimes you need to break free and touch what our body and mind need. Enjoy nature, feel the ground with your feet, breathe the fresh air of the forest ”, reads the description of the project.
DEZEST DESIGN created a house, outside of which there is a leisure area with an outdoor pool and a bonfire where you can enjoy a pleasant evening with friends and family. The living area is as open as possible to the forest, also having a high height in order to maintain proportions and let in more natural light. Combining minimalist design with the typical architecture of a country house near Kiev, the chalet's leisure area joins private areas through a glass corridor. As we walk down the corridor to the bedroom, nature surrounds us and prepares us for relaxation.
Reinforced concrete, black slate and steel. These are the materials that stand out in the Pine Cove House project. Materials that are, at first glance, cold, uncomfortable. But this project proves precisely the opposite, bringing the chalet an enormous feeling of comfort, care and coziness.
