• Vibrant Freshness

Would you like to discover a disruptive and daring bar, the perfect setting to have a drink with some friends? Inaugurated at the quiet De Clerqstraat, in Amsterdam, Ramona takes us aback with an “unusual combination that results in a bohemian space, where bold details and unexpectedly layered materials create an eccentric vibe in its own right”.

Designed by Studio Modijefsky, is comprised of four distinct spaces: the welcoming bar, by the entrance, an eating area, offering agreeable views overlooking the sunny canal, a lounge area, with black marble tile flooring and the kitchen, with upper part clad in bright orange paneling.

The geometrical pattern found in the original stained-glass top windows inspired the sculptural shape of the bar, “built out of beige travertine block, white terrazzo tiles and different coloured bricks”, but also the creation of a bespoke steel & coloured-glass wall cabinet, hanging above the back bar.

In terms of a colour scheme, the intention of evoking an unpolished yet elegant character is manifest in the predominance of dark wood tones of smoked oak in contrast with brighter shades of lilac, dark red and almost neon orange. Highlights include Studio Modijefsky’s designed graphics and the striking Jasper Krabbé painting on the wall.
