Here we are in Sabah Alahmed Alsabah Maritime City, in the southern part of Kuwait, and we have crossed one of the canals that are anchored by several docks and marinas, where we find five residences, filled with simplicity and elegance.

“To develop complexity and diversity” was the main concern during the project conceived by the Associated Architects Partnership, that wanted to create a set of contemporary houses, based on a simple geometry, and inspired by the Kuwaiti way of life. The beach, patios, gardens and pool areas evoke the importance of exterior spaces and enhance “a sense of unity“ in the five villas, which volumetric composition present gentle variations that make each house unique.

More contained in itself, the first floor gathers the private areas, with a wider, albeit protected, view over the city. Enriching the experience further, the rooftop with its 360º panoramic view over Khiran, is one of the most desirable spaces in the apartment, appearing to us like a sanctuary for relaxation.

The result is surprising, with the architectural studio conjugating soft and simple tones. Highlights to the construction options, that define a clear contrast between the structure and its surroundings.
