The Mexican studio focuses on designing and producing high-quality products that last over time and can generate a circular and local economy through different artisanal and semi-industrial processes.
Founded in 2016 by Alejandro Campos and Joel Rojas, Bandido is a design studio in the city of Puebla, Mexico, which seeks to promote local industry and production through lighting and furniture products, inspired by Mexican roots. With Ana Martinez joining the team as an associate partner in June 2017, the concept behind the Bandido studio is the duality between light and shadow, inspired by the transformation of light by nature.

Approaching different projects from different perspectives, and exploring various materials, and manufacturing processes, the studio involves the entire team in the creative process, making it highly dynamic and iterative from the development of an idea to the final product. DBH Collection
Concept
Initially, the DBH lamp was an exploration of shapes that could be created with metal. The new additions to the DBH series comprise a new version of the original pendant (this time in onyx) and three sconces (small, medium, and large).
The DBH 02 family of lamps comprises a palette of 3 materials: brass, onyx, and opaline glass. The combination of these 3 materials brings a sense of peace and serenity, and the harmony produced by the curves creates dynamism through the light, which is transmitted to the space.
Inspiration
The inspiration came after a lighting test that the designers carried out with onyx. Thanks to this test, they discovered several attributes that gave rise to the DBH 02 family, namely:
- Onyx breathes the light that surrounds it and can transmit it through its body and composition.
- Instead of reflecting light, onyx absorbs it and fuses with it.
- Onyx brings a sense of peace, serenity, and calm.
Each piece of onyx tells a unique story because within its composition the veins and colors of the material are never repeated. Handcrafted, the experience and knowledge of the artisan are evident in each piece. On the other hand, what makes the DBH 02 collection unique is the way light is absorbed and transmitted.
