“Who hasn’t dreamt of living somewhere they really want to be? The tools to make that dream a reality are now available”. This was the motto behind Muji Hut’s new concept - the construction of a minimalist and small hut, now available to buy in Japan.

The famous minimalist homeware brand has now created an actually home, “not as dramatic as owning a house or a vacation home, but it’s not as basic as going on a trip”. The interior, with only 9m2, but still large enough for up to four people, has a raft foundation, providing strength and protecting the hut from ground moisture. “Since the floor surface is nice and smooth, cleaning is easy, and flooring or rugs can be laid anywhere to suit your taste”, said the brand.

The inner wall surfaces are left intreated so the client can customize the hut, in contrast with the exterior, composed by burned hardwood, already known in Japanese shipbuilding, allowing to develop the antiseptic properties and the durability of the structure. Thanks to a sliding door and another small window, the house is flooded by light and wind.

Muji Hut's price covers all the materials needed for the construction as well as the costs of the project's contractor. “Put it in the mountains, near the ocean, or in a garden, and it immediately blends in with the surroundings, inviting you to a whole new life”.

However, there is still no sales schedule outside Japan.
