Located on the outskirts of Solivella, in the province of Tarragona, Spain, the existing building, which occupied part of the land, was demolished due to the marks of time.
Preserving some of the history that is told there, the stone from the original walls was kept, which, after being recovered, were reused in the main façade of the new house.

The architects from 2BMFG arquitectes, responsible for the project, decided to design a home that was as sustainable as possible, that is, with minimal energy demand and consumption. In this sense, and to build a nearly zero-energy building, the house project was based on passive construction standards, namely self-production of energy, superinsulation and a ventilation system with heat and humidity recovery.

The layout was designed so that the rooms used during the day, that is, the kitchen, living room, dining room and three bedrooms, were facing southeast, enjoying a view of the backyard. The utility rooms, bathrooms, studio and garage all face northwest towards the main street.

A restored stone wall, which is visible from all the rooms, serves as a vertical divider of the house, separating the most private areas from the service ones. A double space connects the two floors above the entrance hall, creating a delicate relationship that also extends upwards.
The building's northeast façade, facing the street, is intentionally airtight. Its composition is a playful mix of natural stones and Corten sheets, giving the façade proportions that resemble those of the other buildings on the street.

In contrast, the southeast façade has large glass openings that establish an immediate relationship with the outside, namely with the backyard and the swimming pool. A porch shades the backyard and serves as an outdoor dining area.
The result is an ultra-efficient home (AA), welcoming and perfectly integrated into its surroundings.
