Barro Negro is the 13-minute film that celebrates the first anniversary of the homonymous collection, signed by French designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance.
To mark one year of the first collection of the project created by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, the film documents the unbelievable and almost mystical experience, which was on display at the gallery Made in Situ, in Lisbon, during the exhibition “Barro Negro”.

ABOUT BARRO NEGRO COLLECTION

"The first collection of Made in Situ harmonizes perfectly with the birth of this project. Rooted in an ancient culture inspired by the local nature and collaboratively created through deep seeded native customs with integrated contemporary twists. A collection that connects materiality to the senses, to earth and fire, to food, to smell, to touch and to light.
Barro Negro, is rooted in the Serra do Caramulo mountains. The collections of pieces in three unique typologies embody the characteristics of the tumbled boulders in the mystical landscape, the community of people and the ancient Soenga, firing technique. For Noé, Interconnection was key, formally and in process, designing to celebrate and transport the sensations of this distinct environment through the handcrafted black ceramic forms."

MADE IN SITU - MANIFESTO
"Made in Situ is the manifestation of a creative dynamic of apperception, rooted in the treasures of a territory, its craftspeople and its systemic connections to nature. Resulting in a cycle of seasons, each with its own story. “The designed pieces are the fruits of my adventures, explorations of geological and biological textures, patterns, materials and their related techniques. Above all, my stimulation comes from human knowledge and sensitivity, linking to and embedded in each specific place.” — Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance.
The Made in Situ Lisbon studio exists to support these adventures and delve into these stories, a platform that fosters a series of cross-disciplinary exchanges instigated by the designs and their process, a platform that reflects the current shifting movement of our human relationship to the Earth."
