The A’Design Award & Competition announced the 2020 list of World Design Rankings (WDR) with China again standing out in first place with 86 Platinum awards.
With 108 countries represented (this year with the entry of two new countries - Macau and Iraq), China is followed by the United States and Japan, in the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, and Portugal occupies the 12th place in this classification.

World Design Rankings ranks all countries based on the number of designers who received the A ’Design Award - the largest and most prestigious design award in the world, which celebrates the Arts, Architecture and Design in its most diverse areas.

It should be noted that countries do not enter the WDR ranking individually and are represented by participating designers indicating their country or nationality. Countries are then ranked based on the number of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron prizes, and the total score is calculated based on the table below.

The ultimate goal of world design rankings is to contribute to the global design culture, defending and highlighting good design. These classifications also aim to raise awareness of the state of the art and design of countries around the world, highlighting their strongest creative points, design weaknesses and available opportunities. The “Design Business Insights” section provides a ranking of countries based on their success in various fields of design and creative categories. Using the "Design Business Insights" section, journalists and design lovers can discover the main countries for specific sectors in this area and get answers to questions such as "Which country is the best in industrial design", "Which country is the best in industrial design" interior? " , “Which country is the best in fashion design?” etc.
