From the city of New Orleans, we are offered a charming 19th-century hotel that brings together the local culture, architecture and history with European influences. Composed by a church, a rectory, a schoolhouse and a convent, the project bears the signature of the prestigious studio ASH NYC, in collaboration with New Orleans resident Nathalie Jordi.

The approach aimed at conjugating many of the building’s original features, such as the cypress wood moldings, stained glass windows, marble fireplaces or the original rectory flag pole. Inspired by the colour palettes common among iconic religious paintings and tapestries dating back to the 14th-18th centuries in Europe and Africa, Hotel Peter & Paul offers an elegant and bold register, that can be felt throughout each building. Highlights include antique chandeliers, custom rugs by ASH handmade in India and a striking mural depicting a 19th-century sitting room located on a stage in the former schoolhouse that was used for student performances.

Get ready to enjoy a delicious meal at The Elysian Bar, named after the classical mythology where the phrase ‘Elysian Fields’ describes the feeling of bliss. This charming public space offers specialty cocktails, niche wines and a selection of small plates conceived by Chef Alex Harrell. The property also includes a retail space, located in the school, a library lounge for guests, courtesy of local bookstore Blue Cypress Books and a unique meeting and events area located within the restored church.
