Located in a quiet street just a few steps away from the bustle of Sofia’s Slaveikov Square, in Bulgaria, we find Drekka, a bright coffee and tea shop, plenty of color and energy. The project, winner of the Shop/ Exhibition Area Category at Dibla Design Awards 2017, is designed by DontDIY studio and evokes a “feel-good place” with “an invaluable source of information on coffee-culture”.

With two different parts - the bar, where the drinks are prepared, and a large marble table room, where several workshops and social events take place - the coffee shop wants to ensure the rich sensory experience and its visibility with the use of strong colors, dynamic lines and a powerful light. “While it is perhaps the smallest public sphere project we have ever worked on, it seems to be the one embraced by the widest variety of social groups we communicate with”, added the practice.

Despite tight budget, the result is an appealing and modern place, where clients can enjoy a cup of coffee, learn more about it, and refuel their energy for the rest of the day.
