Interior Design: Lola Cwikowski Studio
An old office building in the centre of Lisbon, artistically restored by Frederico Valsassina Arquitectos. An inspiring interior design by Lola Cwikowski Studio.
The facade comprises geometric layers of grey panels, alternating with vertical voussoirs worn by time. The atelier's mission was to furnish and equip the interior of the house (acquired for a holiday home by an English client) to create a perfect dialogue with the architecture so that family and friends visiting Lisbon would stay in an elegant and private environment. , filled with locally made design items.
Upon entering, a small bookcase and mirror act as a welcome valet. The hallway leads us to a cosy living room filled with afternoon light that invades the space through the enormous sliding windows. Outside, a coffee table and chairs for an aperitif on the porch. A wraparound sofa, produced in Portugal, and a reclining armchair create an intimate lounge area facing a classic, modular console, and a handcrafted wool ottoman adds colour to the ambience. Tile, oak and stainless steel come together in a custom kitchen island with additional counter space.
The oak prevails a little throughout the space. The house is bright and comfortable, contemporary yet respectful of the building's history — a perfect environment.
