A multidisciplinary space in Bengaluru, India, that brings together work and leisure areas in a vibrant way.
Set up in Orchid Whitefield residential development in Bengaluru, a suburban neighbourhood in the heart of city and one of the most important technological and economic hubs, the Fields Club was projected by developers Goyal and Co and features a vast combination of amenities to young professionals and their families.

In collaboration with StoryStudio, Studio Lotus - also responsible for the interiors and architectural facade of the building - has converted the triple-height atrium, aiming to provide a ‘Live, Work and Play’ experience. Around the centrally-placed staircase, we uncover distinct spaces spread across three different levels: while community areas such as gathering spaces, F&B zones and co-working rooms remain on the ground floor, the upper levels bring together leisure spaces like a spa, a gym, a badminton court or a table tennis hall. A café and a library have also been integrated on the lobby space, also gathering a private garden and outdoor seating area, enhancing the desired relaxed environment, completed with a nuanced urban touch.

“We wanted to create a space for leisure and recreation to an ever-growing group of working professionals who seek to embrace a healthy work-life balance for themselves and their families and to restore a sense of community among these residents.”
Using customized furniture in collaboration with Mangrove Collective, a design studio and manufacturer from Delhi, but also colourful patterns and simplified arch forms, placed in the games area or in the cafe counter, the studio is responsible for creating a playful yet comfortable atmosphere, connecting flexible and easy-flowing areas.

As the design team explained, “we wanted to create a space for leisure and recreation to an ever-growing group of working professionals who seek to embrace a healthy work-life balance for themselves and their families and to restore a sense of community among these residents”. The answer would end up taking shape through the conception of bold interiors, marked by “colour, patterns, material finishes and tectonic inserts”, carefully placed among a “monochromatic architectural shell, that provides a neutral backdrop for the vibrant artworks and custom environmental graphics,” they added.
