New York based studio General Assembly developed a total renovation project for an apartment in the Vinegar Hill neighbourhood. The original plan was completely altered to allow the junction of two apartments into one.

The team of designers went for ample spaces, loft-style, as in the case of the main room, that functions as kitchen, dinning room, living room (and even guest room!). Even though there are no physical divisions, the kitchen is separated visually thanks to the contrasting colours of the living room walls.

Almost all the furniture was custom-made for this space, produced from natural materials, such as wood. This is, actually, a material found all over the apartment, in the pavement or in the stairs that give access to the second floor.

On the top floor the loft-style approach is developed further, with sliding doors that separate the bedroom from the office, allowing the option of either a generous space or two private areas.
