Stone, wood, metal and marble: in perfect harmony, the materials used here were chosen to define the geometry of this duplex apartment, a project signed by architect Fernanda Marques.
Located in São Paulo, this spacious 550 m2 apartment was planned in detail to enjoy a stunning view over the city. The living area is visually integrated with the terrace, which maximizes natural light in the apartment. In addition, zones without fixed partitions predominate throughout the space, which allows permanent contact between the various rooms and guarantees excellent lighting throughout the house.

Thanks to the owner's receptiveness to new ideas, the architect could implement an unconventional layout. Thus, having the marble fireplace sculpted by Fernanda as the focal point of the room, the architect set up small spaces marked by exclusive objects and art pieces. The result was a hybrid layout, relaxed and asymmetrical, yet capable of suggesting an unusual sensation of perfect balance.

The palette of neutral tones on the walls, floor and main furniture highlights the works of art and design pieces essential to create the atmosphere that the architect wanted to give to the apartment. In the living room, the travertine floor coexists with the walls covered in white wooden slatted panels, and the transition to the bedrooms is made through an ebonized wooden portico. In the gourmet area, Fernanda covered the cupboards in tobacco brown.

"What attracts me most about this project is the subtle symbiosis between our design and the client's unique art collection. Modern visual and spatial continuity with a touch of art by Brecheret and Di Cavalcanti. It was a rewarding opportunity to have one of my projects with such important artists." says Fernanda Marques.
