In collaboration with interior designer Hyemin Ro, Italian studio PlaC Architecture is responsible for the intervention of a 1960’s residential building in the foothills of Turin, a colour and light-filled apartment that takes advantage of the panoramic 180-degree view over the city.

By combining identity and flexibility, the team wanted to transform an unoccupied 110 square meter apartment into a contemporary, almost theatrical, refuge, keeping the service areas in the center while the living room and the bedroom are filled with natural daylight. A preference that also explains the use of sliding doors or curtains to “maximize the continuity between the rooms and allow light to penetrate the spaces”, the team explains.

A playful interior that is also expressed through the choice of pastel tones, “that reflect the hues of the common spaces of the building” and creates an eclectic atmosphere that is both radiant and comfortable. Resin, Guariglia and terrazzo floors contrast with customized furniture in a space punctuated by geometry, patterns and the agreeable bookcase, a standout element of the home.
